This is where we are now.  The car is ready for the track, except for a few very small details.   Hopefully, I’ll get it out on to the track  in mid March for some testing.   I have the time blocked off, we’ll see what the weather is.

For street use, I need to add headlights, a windshield, and a windshield wiper.   Headlights are easy.  But I’ll have to fabricate the windshield frame, and then have a DoT windshield made for it.

This is the basic frame we started with. Painted with Rustoleum.

Update 1/18

So.  How has it been going?  GREAT!  This car is just a hoot to drive.  Except for the fenders, it’s been dead nuts reliable.   As I learn the car and hone my skills, it just keeps getting faster.   This is some of the best bang for the buck you’re going to find.   I’m outrunning Z06 C6 Corvettes and Porches in a $25K car that built in my garage out of mostly used parts.   And having a blast doing, too!  Hooray for the little guy!

I made some big suspension changes this winter, so we’ll see what happens this season.

We took the regional championship in 2016, 2017, 1018, and 2019.    The car attracts a lot of attention.  We got a 6 page spread in Speed News magazine, April 2017.  And we got an interview and segment on an Australian TV show that was filming out here last summer.  I’m pretty excited about that.  We’re infamous!  (Which is more than famous).

MAJOR UPDATE!!!!!  November, 2024

So, I’ve been racing with NASA rocky Mountain for 20 years.   Lots of laps, lots of fun.   8 regional championships.   I don’t know how many podiums.   Instructor of the Year.  Learned a lot.

It’s time for me to retire.

I sold the car to a happy guy in the Denver area.   I expect I’ll be seeing it around.

Sad day for me.  Happy day for Steve.
